There are very different vowels in Ryukyu language and in Japanese.
There are 5 vowels in the Japanese language. (a), (i), (u),(e),(o)
Ryukyu language has only 3 vowels. (a), (i), (u)

Instead of the Japanese vowel (e) it changes to (i) in Ryukyu language, and
instead of the Japanese vowel (o) it changes to (u) in Ryukyu language.
